Spirit Horse Report We begin one misty morning a few weeks ago when one of our sanctuary officers was making the usual rounds to check the welfare of the horses in the Wirral area. It was the morning after a huge storm the air was cool and misty from the rain. As our officer entered the field, in the distance he saw what he thought was a horse eating grass, but when looking closer what was witnessed was nothing more than a phenomenon happening right there. It was the Rising of the Spirit Horse, although stunned at the site he was fortunately able to capture the event using a mobile phone which takes pictures. As you can see the Spirit Horse is rising out of the ground almost fully free to once again become the MYSTICAL SPIRIT HORSE

"In the early [nineteen-]thirties this hill was known to the local Winnebago as Shohetaka, meaning "horse hill." This eminence was a sacred place, or shrine, to which the local Indians went to fast and dream and to receive the "blessings" (magic power) of a spirit horse which on misty days was to be seen in the hazy clouds rising above the hill. This horse did not always remain in a stationary position, but was sometimes seen to move and was heard to whinny." Eagle Heights was the place of abode in Indian days of a 'spirit horse' whose form could be seen to rise above this high hill on misty days. To this vicinity the Indians went to fast and pray and to obtain the 'blessings' of this spirit."
