All the way from Stoke to see Greg

11th April 2007

A family outing to see Greg, all the way from stoke. Dad was pulling his hair out trying to find the Neston site, everything was fine until my mobile battery ran out, then he was on his own. Greg putting on his "where are the carrots look" made a fuss of mum and daughter, while Dad was eying up Saahi the Race Horse. For the National.!!

Dandy gets the cash

7th Saturday 2007

Dandy seen  with Janis our Co-0rdinator waits patiently in the queue for the cash machine

at the precinct in New Ferry.

Dandy has always been the impatient one, Janis told him we are going to Rock ferry to collect some cash for the Sanctuary. He told Janis to get the card and to wait in the queue for the cash machine, Janis tried to explain to the impatient one that the money was coming from the little shop opposite, but he insisted so they waited, of course the machine wouldn't accept the card, as it was an Allsorts card telling us to go and get the loot.

Surprise Visitor to the Sanctuary

Mr Tom Thompson and family

April 4th 2007

Mr Tom Thompson, Pebbles and Corinne's instructor made a surprise visit to the Sanctuary today. Tom now running his own riding school in a large country estate in Hull on the North East coast of England came and visited our stables in Heswall. He was delighted to meet up with his old friend Pebbles and has been following Pebbles progress on our website.

When  Tom  was working at Woodville in Thornton Hough, he first met Pebbles 14 years ago when pebbles was only four and very green and in-experienced. all you riders out there must remember Tom he worked  at Greenfield's and Barnston riding Schools, before moving up North.

Tom is retiring in about eighteen months, so why not pop up to hull and have a lesson or two. Good luck Tom and its great to know that Queenie's pony Prince is Fine. Queenie would be very proud of him.

    DANDY GOES TO CHURCH

April 1st 2007

We were asked by the Priest at St Johns Church in Rock Ferry, if little Dandy our Shetland Pony could lead the procession at their Palm Sunday service.

He behaved like a little angel.

As so many people turned up he was sure to be on his best behaviour as he was honoured to play the part of the donkey for Palm Sunday, and thought all the palms were for his lunch.

         Spring is here at last

 26 March 2006

We can all see the web site is under a revamp, as we are so busy running around after the Horses and Ponies little time is left to update the web site. But help is on the way Ben who helps feed and look after the Neston Horses sees all sorts of antics that the ponies are up to and he has promised to relay some of these activities on to your selves, with pictures.

WINTER HOLIDAY FOR TWO

Linda our Sanctuary welfare officer and trusty Chairwomen Corinne decided to take Pebbles and Leo for a little overnight stop in North Wales. pebbles  and Leo was indeed getting a little Large on all the feed and goodies supplied by yourselves.

So a winter holiday was planned. Do us all good Linda insisted, unbeknown to the pair of them that snow and ice was on the cards, the owner of the place they were going to, said the conditions  was fine for a trip across the mountains. So off they popped

Well doesn't look to bad does it.

On arrival a short trip was planned and they decided that as it was very cold and looked a bit daunting (weather wise). Put Horses to bed with loads of hay and sneak off for a quick bite at the local inn. They got lost finding the bunk house on the way back, and a kind motorist sent them on their way again. Much to the relief of Leo and Pebbles.

Overnight a Baby Lamb was born seen nuzzling its Mum.

The early morning charge

Breakfast time with the lambs

In the meantime Pebbles lost his back shoes in the field (OOPS) Holiday had to be postponed so off they popped back to the Wirral. A cunning plan was formed on the way back home, it was a little cold up their -5 centigrade that night, so After a good nights sleep in a warm bed  the plan came to fruition Delamere forest was the order of the day. What a day it was the sun shone all day and it was really warm.

Linda posing with Leo in the forest at Delamere

Corinne posing with Cobber at Delamere

Cobber has just recovered from remedial shoeing performed at Leahurst Vetinary Hospital he has been off work for a long time and has really missed going out with his mum, he really enjoyed his trip and is as sound as a pound after his excursion he told pebbles all about it and pebbles said he would be better up the mountain it was nice there.

Now folks that's what it is like to ride Cobber in Delamere forest.

See you all soon have fun it will soon be Easter have a look at the forthcoming events and try and make it we would love to see you. Bye for now Rick
